Welcome to Orion Harriers

We are a friendly, running club, suitable for all ages and all abilities, based in North Chingford, on the edge of Epping Forest.  We have a membership of over 300 runners, comprising of women and men aged from 18 – 80, plus a vibrant juniors section with 300 members. Whether your ambition is to run competitively or just jog to get fit and meet new friends, Orion Harriers is the club for you!



Club House Extension

As everyone is probably aware we are proposing to extend the clubhouse to provide larger and improved changing facilities and communal areas to cope with current  membership numbers and predicted growth.

London Marathon Training Week 12
Well dear reader, if I thought my athletic weekend couldn't get any better after doing the Orion 15 yesterday (on a 3 legged stool), I was wrong!
After last weeks 20 mile struggle, this week was a revelation I loped around this 20 mile route, on a fabulous spring sunshine morning, without a care in the world, eating up the miles with relish. As we get closer to marathon day the training is paying off for us all and for me it's just what I needed.
Big shout out to all in the group, with special mentions to Anna McEwen and Kerry Parker, who both had difficulties this morning but were determined to do the 20 - true grit!, hope you are both well when you've had a good lie down.
Next week another 20 miles on a route that's truly flatter than a shadow, should be a blast...

My marathon training hasn't gone to plan this yr. feel very under prepared for London. I'm sure it's happened to other people. Any advice for the last month of training that could maybe get me on track and come out of it with a half decent time?? Starting to worry a little and wonder if I should defer??
