Orion Harriers London Marathon 2022

It’s that time of year when those running an autumn marathon will
need to be thinking about their training and, for some, how on earth
they’ll be running 26.2 miles…Well relax (a little), Orion Harriers will
have a few training groups, ranging from sub 3hrs to 5+hrs. This
post regards our legendary marathon training groups which will take
you from novice to super cool athlete (and everything between)
come the Marathon start line.

There are few better ways to cover the demands of a 16-week
training schedule than running in a group who will become your
friends by the end of it. The plan assumes you can run 75 minutes
non-stop before it commences. The training
leads up to the London Marathon on 02nd October 2022, but anyone
running any autumn marathons are welcome to join and will still
benefit. Just speak to one of the Run Leaders to find out the best
options to adapt the plan.

The groups will sometimes have 20+ runners for the Sunday long
runs, many who come back every year (even without a marathon
place) to enjoy the supportive friendliness of our groups. You’ll
benefit from tips and guidance from marathon vets, specialist talks
to help you fuel and protect yourself throughout your training and
have the opportunity to bag yourself a seat on the special marathon
day coach taking us from Chingford direct to Blackheath and the
start line of TCS 2022.
