Essex Vets and Juniors Race Report by Adam Baker
Last weekend, at the Essex Vets Championships, Orion Harriers pulled off a proper 'smash and grab' job to our bitter rivals, Colchester Harriers' on their own back yard. Super Saturday, kicked off with team Gold for the U15 boys in its inaugural year at these championships. Joseph Owens very impressive individual Silver led the team home to glory. Proceeding races saw great runs from Christine Inch to take Bronze in the Women V55 and John Lynch the same colour in the Mens V60. Essex Vets Champs 28th November 2015
We had an excellent day at the Essex County Vets Champs at Hilly Fields, Colchester on Saturday. Team Gold for Nick Shasha, Barny Foot, Mark Dillon and Adam Baker, with Nick taking Individual Gold too. 2015 Essex Vets M40 Dean Moy just misses M50 medal in 4th place but John Lynch takes M60 Bronze. 2015 Essex Vets M50 In her first race in W55 category Christine Inch takes Bronze Medal. 2015 Essex Vets Women For first time U13 and U15 Junior Champs were held with the Vets Orion U15 Boys Joseph Owen, Jay Shotter, James Wood and Joseph Clark took [...]

Well done to Nick Shasha AKA King of Mauritius
who won the Ferny Trail 10k while on holiday in Mauritius. The race had 200m of ascent and plenty of narrow staircase paths. He took a minute out of 2nd Place who is the Junior national trail champ in Mauritius!
Big Shout out to Rick Ashton
Who finished 49th in Ultra Trail Du Mont Blanc (UTMB) at the end of August. This is 107 mile course with 10k metres of climb over a mountain range! Only the creme de la creme of the Ultra scene get to qualify for this race. Out of 2,500 experience ultras runners who started, only 1800 finished. Rick finished in an astonishing time of 27 hours and 48 minutes!!
